IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT A SPECIFIC PLACE IS DESIGNATED FOLLOWING THE ABOVE TERMS, IN THE CONTRACT.
For example, on an export from the U.S. under terms,
FOB could mean any sea port in the U.S.
The seller may be based in San
Antonio, Texas but the buyer specifies a carrier who sails from
Charleston, S.C.
The seller may not have calculated the cost of
transport from San Antonio, Texas to Charleston, S.C. into his selling
price, leaving him with hidden costs and loss of profit.
